Nobody puts “catch up on ironing” on their weekend plans. It just sits in the basket, getting bigger, until you’re ironing a shirt at 7.40 on a Monday.

We offer ironing alongside our home cleaning. Here’s how it works and how to get the most out of it.

How it works

Ironing is an add-on to a home clean, regular or one-off. When you book, tell us roughly how much there is, whether it’s a few work shirts a week or a full basket for a family. We’ll build the time into the visit.

It’s done in your home, with your iron and board, so you’ll need both in working order. Clothes go back on hangers or get folded, whichever you prefer.

What to leave out

Put everything you want ironed in one place, separate from the washing that’s still to do. It sounds obvious, but it saves time spent sorting.

Leave out hangers if you want things hung. Tell us where they should go afterwards, whether that’s a wardrobe, a rail, or kids’ rooms.

Things we’ll check with you

Care labels. We follow them. If something says “do not iron” or “cool iron only”, that’s what happens.

Delicates. Silk, wool, embellished or vintage items need a bit more care. Point them out, or keep them to one side if you’d rather do them yourself.

Your preferences. Creases in trousers or not. Bedding ironed or just folded. Shirts on hangers or folded for a suitcase. There’s no wrong answer, we just need to know.

Is it worth it?

It depends how you value your evenings. If a basket of ironing takes you two hours on a Sunday night, adding it to your regular clean hands that time back to you.

It works especially well for busy households with school uniforms and work shirts every week, and for anyone who works from home and would rather not spend their lunch break at the ironing board.
